Evening Scented Primrose, Tina James’ Magic

Description:

Evening Scented Primrose Tina James' Magic puts on a nightly spectacle as its large, fragrant, crisp yellow four-petalled flowers burst open suddenly at dusk reaching two-thirds open within 10 seconds and fully open within 12 minutes. This biennial produces a flat rosette of leaves the first year, followed by 34 foot yellow spires the second year, and is pollinated after dark by large night-flying moths; it was discovered by garden writer Tina James, who hosts annual primrose parties to share the phenomenon.
