Euphorbia spectabilis

Description:

Euphorbia spectabilis (Monadenium spectabile) is endemic to Tanzania, growing within the sandy and rocky soils of Iringa Escarpment. This stout succulent usually grows unbranched, although it can be occasionally sparsely branched. At first emerging pale green, the stem develops an almost white surface over time, while red-brown tubercles are scattered along. Fleshy leaves with burgundy undersides emerge during the summer months.
