Description:
Overview
Meet the ECOWITT GW1200, a compact weather gateway that combines a builtin temperature, humidity, and barometric sensor with flexible IoT capabilities. Designed to sit anywhere in your home, its USB power option and 915 MHz radio make it a versatile hub for both indoor readings and a growing ecosystem of Ecowitt sensors and smart devices. This gateway is built to expand with your setup, turning scattered data into a cohesive weather picture you can monitor and share with ease.
With the GW1200 youre not simply observing conditions; youre connecting to a broader sensing network. The device acts as a WiFi gateway that can pair with Ecowitt sensors developed for outdoor and indoor use, and it can control compatible smart devices after configuration. The result is a streamlined, scalable approach to environmental monitoring that fits a range of spacesfrom a cozy apartment to a sunlit backyard.
Key Benefits
- Builtin 3in1 sensor delivers quick readings for ambient temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure.
- IoT ready and compatible with a broad line of Ecowitt sensors and smart controls for expanded monitoring and automation.
- Flexible placement with USB power (2.0 or later) and an optional 1.5m/3ft extension for convenient positioning.
Expand Your Ecosystem
The GW1200 supports a wide range of Ecowitt devices, enabling you to tailor a comprehensive weather and environmental monitoring network. Examples include outdoor sensors, rain gauges, wind meters, soil moisture probes, air quality sensors, water leak detectors, and more. This modular approach helps you track microclimates around your home or garden with precision, then scale up as your needs evolve.
- Outdoor sensors (temperature/humidity, soil moisture, rain, wind) for realtime yard or garden insights.
- Air quality and PM sensors to monitor indoor or outdoor air quality trends.
- Smart devices like watering timers and switches for automated routines.
Easy Setup and Management
Setup is straightforward via the Ecowitt app or a web interface. The GW1200 is USB powered and designed for simple placement, with a quick start guide to help you connect and configure WiFi promptly. You can update firmware automatically or manually, depending on your preference, while keeping historical data intact.
- Two configuration methods: Ecowitt App or website for WiFi setup.
- Optional automatic firmware upgrades that preserve your existing data.
- USB power and a provided extension cable for flexible placement.
Data Access and Sharing
Once connected, you can view live data and calibrate sensors through the Ecowitt app. The gateway supports data uploads to Ecowitt.net by default, with options to publish to Weather Underground, WeatherCloud, UK Met Office, and customized servers, enabling you to reach a wider audience or keep a personal archive of observations.
- Live data viewing and sensor management in the Ecowitt app.
- Dropbox of readings to Ecowitt.net and multiple weather services after setup.
- Support for customized servers for advanced users or specific workflows.
RF Frequency: 915 MHz. This combination of builtin sensing, flexible connectivity, and scalable sensor support makes the GW1200 a practical hub for a growing home weather and environmental monitoring system.
