Phoenix roebelenii

Description:

Phoenix roebelenii, native to to subtropical areas in southeast Asia, is a slow growing slender palm tree that can reach between 2 to 7 metres in height in its natural habitat. Its long, pinnate leaves, sometimes stretching to around 120 centimetres, emerge from the top of the trunk, gently arching over time. As the foliage becomes spent with age, it leaves behind protruding scars which form the thick surface of the trunk.
